Prototype console — no authentication

Anyone with the link reaches this. Role is a demo switch in Team & roles, not a permission. Real access control arrives with the backend.

Team & roles

Who inside Buildex does what, which section they own, and which view you are using.

Operations

Current view

John Gitahi

Verification decisions, supplier standing and listing moderation.

Owns /admin/verification

Responsible for

  • Approve, reject or hold a manufacturer application
  • Name the exact documents a rejection requires
  • Suspend or reinstate a supplier
  • Unpublish a listing without touching the supplier
  • Decide whether an application needs a site visit

Not theirs to do

  • Change a supplier's own pricing or MOQ — that stays theirs
  • Answer an enquiry on a supplier's behalf
  • Set a package or pause a campaign — Commercial owns both

You are viewing the console as Operations.

Risk & Compliance

Daniel Otieno

Exception monitoring, audit trail and the credit programme once Buildex Capital goes live.

Owns /admin/activity

Responsible for

  • Read every exception and the full audit trail
  • See which checks are past SLA and by how long
  • Review directors and shareholding reconciliation
  • Raise a concern that sends an application to a site visit

Not theirs to do

  • Approve an application — that is an Operations decision
  • Score credit or set limits until Buildex Capital ships

Commercial & Accounts

Franklin Wanyama

Packages, renewals and regional campaigns — including the VIP tier where Buildex sells a supplier's range for them.

Owns /admin/subscriptions

Responsible for

  • Set a package for an account-managed agreement
  • See what renews in the next 30 days
  • Pause or resume a campaign that is overspending
  • Read campaign delivery and conversion across every supplier

Not theirs to do

  • Decide a verification outcome
  • Change a supplier's own pricing — that stays theirs
  • Invoice or take payment; billing is not in the prototype

Supplier Support

Mercy Chebet

Enquiries going unanswered, suppliers cleared but not publishing, and the calls that fix both.

Owns /admin/enquiries

Responsible for

  • See every enquiry a supplier has left unanswered, and for how long
  • Compare a supplier's answer rate against the time they advertise
  • Spot suppliers cleared to sell but publishing nothing
  • Read one supplier's whole record before making the call

Not theirs to do

  • Answer an enquiry on a supplier's behalf
  • Suspend a supplier — that is an Operations decision

What Buildex has done

The internal half of the audit trail: verification decisions taken by Operations, newest first.

Coming with the backend

  • Authentication and real roles. Sign-in, per-role route protection, and decisions attributed to the person who made them rather than to the role.
  • Four-eyes on rejection. A rejection costs a supplier days, so it deserves a second reviewer — the decision path already records who acted, which is what that needs.
  • Credit roles. Buildex Capital adds underwriting and collections; neither exists in the data model yet, so neither is shown here. The console lists 12 event kinds today and none of them is a loan.
